Corporal Armstrong was killed in an automobile accident at the intersection of Decatur and North Bridge Road while responding to a robbery call. When Corporal Armstrong received the robbery call, he activated his emergency equipment and made a U-turn to respond. Corporal Armstrong’s patrol vehicle was broadsided by a city trash truck. Corporal Armstrong was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
