Detective Tarentino was killed in an Automobile Crashmobile crash while en route to make a safety presentation at a local church as a function of the Community Policing Unit. Detective Tarentino was Struck by a vehicleck head-on by a driver that crossed the center median and this led to a secondary collision with another car. Detective Tarentino was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A third driver sustained moderate injuries.
